Product milestones
Build the core well, then expand the medium.
Talevara is deliberately narrowing its first release to choice-driven interactive fiction with optional illustrations. This page shows the current focus and the capabilities planned after the foundation is stable.
How to read this roadmap
Milestones describe product direction, not contractual delivery dates. We would rather finish the reading, writing, branching, publishing and community foundations before exposing larger creation systems in an unfinished state.
- Current focus
Interactive stories
The first public product is centred on readable interactive fiction rather than multiple game engines.
- Branching prose and cross-chapter choices
- Creator Write, Map and Playtest workspace
- Logic, flags and conditional routes
- Optional static illustrations inside the reading flow
- Publishing, versions, imports, discovery and account foundations
- Next expansion
Visual storytelling
Once the prose-and-branching workflow is stable, Talevara can add a dedicated visual-novel creation model without forcing those controls into every creator's workspace.
- Scene backgrounds and character sprites
- Dialogue-stage composition
- Simple transitions and animation
- Hotspots and visual interaction
- Music and scene audio
- Later
Gamebook & RPG systems
Deeper game systems will return as a dedicated capability rather than a collection of half-visible fields inside ordinary stories.
- Stats and character sheets
- Inventory and item systems
- Encounters and richer conditional rules
- Game-oriented reader HUDs
- Creator tools for balancing and testing state-heavy stories
- Platform growth
Collaboration and creator economy
Community, collaboration and monetization should grow on top of a stable authoring and reading platform.
- Co-author and editor collaboration
- Expanded reviews, comments and creator communication
- Subscriptions, premium content and creator earnings
- More detailed reader analytics and production tooling
Why narrow the first release?
Visual novels and RPG systems are large products in their own right. Keeping them out of the first release lets Talevara make interactive reading, branching authoring and publishing coherent before introducing additional creation modes.
